A replica of an area in central Patagonia, scaled by 1:7 with roughly 50% exagerated altitudes. The location is right on the border between Argentina and Chile, east of the Baker Channel Fjord System.
WARNING: This Map is made to be especially difficult. Factories and Towns are often apart by altitude as well as winding mountains. Most possibilites for two-way-trips are impossible by design. Even in hard difficulty TF2 is very easy to complete once you have a few profitbale routes going. This tries to make hard mode much much harder to encourage more thinking. The Map has only few towns and industries and is not suited to build a thousand-vehicle empire. Rather you will need to finetune a couple few routes to even make a profit. You have been warned.
The mapsize is Huge (400 square km) and requires experimental mapizes. In creation I used a mod to make Tools require Steel instead of Planks. Therefor you will need an achievement enabler mod, if you intend to do achievements here. There is a hidden, citizen only town, with enough space to place a large airport there (clipping over map edge), this can simulate outside and international connections and is not visible from playing area. As this is Southamerica, ALL vehicles are enabled. Change this, if you want to further challenge yourself.
The Year is 1877. After the indepence wars of the spanish colonies, Patagonia took it’s chance to declare independence themselves as well. But with such small population, there would be low chance of resisitng the northern neighbours in the long run. To counter that, the new capital of Torshavn has been founded on a plateu in the Andes with excellent defense ability. Though this area is very underdeveloped. You see the opportunity to offer a lot of transporting services across the Andes to connect the Pampas in the east and the Pacific Fjords in the West. But could this be a profitable business? Could you really serve all needs, or would you have to cut unprofitable routes all the time? If Patagonia and it’s new capital Torsfjell shall survive, you need to find a way.
This Map took a full week to create. If you enjoy it and end up playing it equally as long, maybe consider leaving a small donation: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=DRQXH77YWXLQS&source=url
